About the Division
The Communication Division is comprised of ten Telecommunications Officers who work eight hour shifts to provide twenty four hour coverage and include one Telecommunications Officer that is responsible for data entry. Communication officers are specially trained to handle all types of calls from non-emergency inquiries about police services to assisting in life-and-death situations. Telecommunications Officers are responsible for answering all calls for service placed to the Lampasas Police Department for both police and fire service. In addition, they dispatch for Lampasas Animal Control Division. The Communication Division's hours of operation are twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Communication Officers are available to answer all non-emergency and 911 calls placed to the police department.
