On the afternoon of February 27, 2026, the City of Lampasas was notified of an unusual number of dead fish found in a portion of Sulphur Creek. Staff has met on site with Texas Parks and Wildlife. Tests were conducted to determine the oxygen concentration in the water and readings were normal. The State and City of Lampasas will be back on site tomorrow, Saturday, February 28, to conduct additional testing along the creek.
The City will notify the public of any additional findings as they become available.
