On June 26, 2017, the Lampasas City Council designated a proclamation in Lampasas, Texas to recognize and honor our "Community Champions."A "Community Champion" is anyone or any organization in the community that displays leadership, volunteers their time, is involved with the community, and is willing to support and improve the quality of life for our community as a whole.A "Community Champion" creates an example for the rest of the community to follow, emphasizes that community service is important and shows that one person or organization can be an effective agent for change. This page was created to honor our "Community Champions" and recognize them for their community engagement, dedication, service, contributions and their selfless efforts for the benefit of the community so that things are better for everyone.Nominating your "Community Champion" is simple and straightforward, simply tell us about the person or project and the difference they make to the community. All nominees will be given to City Council for review. Those chosen will recognized at a City Council meeting and will be presented a certificate on behalf of the Mayor and Lampasas City Council.

Enter our "Photo of the Month" contest! This contest is for anyone with digital photos of the city of Lampasas. The City Council will judge the photos and announce the monthly winning photo at the first regular City Council meeting. Winners will receive a unique City of Lampasas gift and posting of their photo on the City of Lampasas web site Photo Contest Album and/or social media. Please remember to submit photos that are taken within the city limits of Lampasas as well as photos that tell a part of the story or show the area of Lampasas. Buildings, landscapes, events and other City related scenes are acceptable. All other entries will be rejected.

Built by a talented Ironsmith, Waylon Dobbs was commissioned by local businesswoman Leah Caruthers. On March 14, 2016, the spur was finally home and shortly made it into the Guinness World Record Book as the Worlds Largest Spur.
