Human Resources provides services in the areas of personnel, labor relations, training and development, benefits administration, occupational safety and health, and affirmative action plans for city employees. In addition, the department provides policy direction on human resource management issues and administrative support to city departments.
The department implements and manages the recruitment and selection of permanent and temporary city employees, including but not limited to, the drug screening process, maintenance of personnel records and employee performance evaluations. The Human Resources Department also administers the employee benefits programs.
In addition, the department facilitates the city's workers' compensation and safety programs, develops the city’s job classification and compensation system, and coordinates required training programs for city employees.
